Our concept
Nofitech designs and deliver solutions for production of smolt, postsmolt, grow-out and broodstock.
Our concept is based on modules, consisting of four octagonal tanks centered around a shared water treatment unit. The patented structure secures short pipelines, and the system has been designed to prevent accumulation of sediments.
All surfaces exposed to water are coated with polyurea (a fast-hardening membrane), for a completely watertight system with unbeatable durability. The tank walls also function as the building´s external and internal walls.
The compact structure and extensive use of prefabricated units result in reduced construction time and cost. Seawater resistant materials are used throughout the structure and in all components. The ventilation and dehumidification systems are of the highest quality, and a fully insulated building with sandwich panel walls ensures a dry atmosphere.
Process control systems and alarm functions ensure thorough monitoring and full control of water quality and operation related parameters (all available on-site in the built-in control room). All data are logged for use in operational analysis, allowing for control and optimization of conditions within each fish tank. Critical components have separate backup solutions to ensure continuous operation.

ModulRas Grow-out
ModulRAS Grow-out is an independent unit to produce grow-out fish. The module consists of 4 fish tanks with a common water treatment system. The water treatment system can be split in two if desired, so that two different water qualities can be run.
ModulRAS Grow-out is developed for operation with seawater or fresh water. ModulRAS Grow-out can be delivered in different sizes with capacities as requested, with a central fish delivery system.
ModulRas Broodstock
ModulRAS Broodstock is specially adapted to the customers’ desired production of broodstock fish and the need for roe stock.
The broodstock ModulRAS is based on the same good concept as our other modules, but the solutions are specially adapted to keeping and moving large fish.
ModulRas Postsmolt
ModulRAS Postsmolt is an independent unit specially made for the production of postsmolt up to 1 kg.
The module consists of 4 fish tanks with a common water treatment system. The water treatment system can be split in two if desired, so that two different water qualities can be run.
ModulRas Smolt
Smolt facilities are designed with separate departments for hatchery, first feeding and pre-smolt (up to 100 g) with desired capacity.
Our reference facility ERKO has a capacity of 5 million smolts per year.
Hatchery
The hatchery is a hygienically separated department consisting of a delivery room and a hatchery with a separate RAS and cooling/heating system.
First feeding department
The first feeding department is specially designed with tanks and feeding system and silo solutions for the first feeding stage. Extra treatment steps are added in the water treatment to reduce particle content in the water.
Pre-smolt
The smolt system can be built with one or two pre-smolt departments depending on the desired capacity and flexibility.
